envirocoal™
is the lowest sulfur coal offered in the
world today.
envirocoal™
offers the combination of the lowest sulfur and lowest
ash coal
currently produced in the world. Used
by utilities on every continent,
envirocoal™ is mined at the rate of 12 million tons
per year.
envirocoal™
is mined by P.T. Adaro Indonesia
and represented in the western hemisphere by Adaro
Envirocoal Americas.

Designed
by nature for the 21st century, the mining conditions at
Adaro's
envirocoal™
mine are excellent.
•
Seam
thickness ranges from 30 to 70 meters.
•
The
coal quality is uniform throughout the coal seams.
•
Overburden
is thin, keeping stripping ratios low.
•
Reserves
exceed Two Billion Tons.
These
optimum conditions result in high production levels, low
mining costs and consistent coal quality. Of course,
to maintain high production levels, a mine must be
outfitted with the correct equipment. The
envirocoal™
mine uses the latest equipment selected for our specific
mining conditions and the climate at the mine. This
enables
envirocoal™
to combine high production levels with excellent
reliability.
Coal
is trucked from the
envirocoal™
mine to the barge loading facility, a distance of less
than 75 kilometers, on a road built by Adaro to a river
capable of handling 10,000 metric ton barges which
transport the coal to the port.
At the river
trans-loading facility
envirocoal™
is crushed and loaded onto barges for shipment downriver
to the ship loading facilities.
Trans-loading
envirocoal™
into a vessel, off-shore Kalimantan, Indonesia, where
vessels of up to 120,000 DWT can be loaded.
Vessels
can also be loaded at a new public bulk port and coal
storage terminal at Pulau Laut, Indonesia which is
currently capable of loading vessels up to 80,000 DWT.
